Fay Victor Ensemble-Started in 2005, The Fay Victor Ensemble is a voice-guitar-bass-drum unit that performs original material written for the group by Fay Victor and Jochem van Dijk. The music is a sly combination of jazz, rock, free improvisation and modern classical music. The FVE’s latest recording, The Freesong Suite, was released Sept 24, 2009 to rave reviews: “delivering the unexpected with beauty, depth and innovation…” in All About Jazz, and described as a “a great and simple concept” in the New York Times.

ExPosed Blues Project-The Exposed Blues Duo is collaboration between guitarist Anders Nilsson and Fay Victor that has become an improvising blues duo using true blues, blues based material and all the wails and flails they can muster. With pieces ranging from the Rev. Gary Davis, Leroy Carr, Elmer Snowden, Herbie Nichols and Paul Simon alongside free improvisation and original tunes.

Stuyvesant Reluctant-Stuyvesant Reluctant is a pocket oratorio for three voices and a cello.  Composer Jochem van Dijk and writer Gerhardus van Wilgen created a musical portrait of Petrus  Stuyvesant’s anxieties right before he arrived in the Dutch colony Nieuw Amsterdam. His biggest fear gossip and slander is represented by three so called fish-wives, ordinary market women with a mind on their own and a mouth the size of Long Island.

Doggie Woof- makes New York city urban soundscapes. An instrumental combo in the free improv tradition, its members are import New Yorkers, with roots spanning both Pacific and Atlantic overseas origins. Their outsider’s eagle eye on the city they live and work in, whether permanently or occasionally, gives the music its edge and character. Doggie Woof consists of Ken Kobayashi (drums, percussion), Jochem van Dijk (bass guitar, effects) Super Natsuki Tamura (didgeridoo) and Luc van Lieshout. (tp).
